Holy crap, it's 2012.

I re-discovered this survey again! I love it - obviously, as I did one in 2009, 2010, and 2011!

1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Traveled in Europe with some of my best friends all at once.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last year I didn't make many resolutions, but I wrote: "I feel like 2011 will be my year of finding my way - I feel just a bit lost right now (don't ask my why, I can't explain it), and I am optimistic that this year will bring good things." This year didn't really turn out to be what I had hoped for, in fact it was one of those years I often wished was over! Hopefully next year will be what I wanted 2012 to be.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Three women I work with had babies!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, my last remaining grandparent, my mom's mom. While it wasn't unexpected, it did really suck. And it was really strange to go through the holidays this year - no grandparents, new traditions, lots of memories.

5. What countries did you visit?
Canada, Ireland, Italy, with a 25 minute stop over in Germany! It was an AWESOME year for travel.

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
More time! <-- oh, look, I have the exact same answer as last year!

7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Feb 24th, Sean & my 5 year anniversary, June 18th, the date we left for Europe.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I got a promotion, and actually traveled the way I wanted to this year!

9. What was your biggest failure?
With the exception of our trip to Europe, I did next to no photography. I plan on re-focusing on photography next year! Also, I barely touched my 30 Before 30 list! I think it needs a quick revision and some more aggressive doing!

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, thankfully!

Link11. What was the best thing you bought?
Plane tickets! Europe, Toronto, and Las Vegas, though the Las Vegas trip did NOT go as I hoped.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Once again, Sean's. He's such a trooper, and he's so patient and cute with Emma.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
No one's, really.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Travel! And Emma. Oh, and my car. Since we live in the canyon, I had $800 in "rodent-related" damages, and needed four new tires. Thanks, Topanga.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Travel! I guess that was the theme of 2011.

16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Pretty much anything by Adele. "One and Only" in particular. But we heard "Someone Like You" EVERYWHERE in Europe!

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Neither? I'm about the same, I think.
b) thinner or fatter? Ugh, fatter. For a second after Europe I lost weight (lots of walking), but oh has it come back.
c) richer or poorer? Poorer, if we're going by my savings account. Richer, if we're going by travel experiences!

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Being outdoors. Taking photos.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Working - I'm getting better at this work/life balance, but I'm not where I need to be yet.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Christmas Eve with my mom - it was actually the closest to a perfect day I've had in a while. Christmas Day with my dad.

21. Did you fall in love in 2011?
I re-fell in love with traveling, if that counts.

22. What was your favorite TV program?
Castle, Rookie Blue, NCIS, Hart of Dixie, Once Upon A Time

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Nope. I'm doing better at not hating people.

24. What was the best book you read?
Any of the books I read on my new Kindle that Sean got me for my birthday!

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Adele. Music from all the random TV shows I love!

26. What did you want and get?
A new robe, lots of travel, a Kindle, a Blu-Ray player and a new TV!

27. What did you want and not get?
I plead the 5th... ;-) <-- Still didn't get the one thing I've been SO wanting!

28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Honestly, I don't think I have one from this year.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
How appropriate that this is question 29 - that's how old I turned! We went to Ladyface, my new favorite restaurant, with so many friends! It was a fabulous last birthday of my 20's.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
(see question 27.)

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Increasingly more business casual. I love blazers and blouses.

32. What kept you sane?
Sean. Emma. Traveling. Being able to talk to friends about shit that was going down so that I could work it out instead of letting it get to me.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I don't know. I guess any one of these guys?

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
The rich not paying their fair share of taxes.

35. Who did you miss?
Sinead & Ryan. Clara. My grandmothers.

36. Who was the best new person you met?
My friend Andressa from work is pretty awesome!

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.
You can't be everything to everyone. You can only be the best person you can be.

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"You want a revelation, You wanna get it right, But it's a conversation, I just can't have tonight. You want a revelation, some kind of resolution, Tell me what you want me to say..." Florence & The Machine "No Light No Light"

Happy New Year, everyone!
