Florence & The Machine - Shake It Out
I really enjoy this song. It was the first one on the new album to jump out at me.
Florence & The Machine - No Light No Light
The video for this one is super weird and creepy but I love love love the song! And the lyrics resonate, too. "You want a revelation, You wanna get it right, But it's a conversation, I just can't have tonight. You want a revelation, some kind of resolution, Tell me what you want me to say..."
Maroon 5 - The Air That I Breathe
It's a bonus track on their last album, and my favorite on the album, too. For me it's a kind of throwback to the Maroon 5 of a few years ago that wasn't all disco rollerskating all the time. And the lyrics are nice, if kind of sad. Don't mind the weird stop motion video.
Glee Cast - Rumour Has It/Someone Like You
My favorite song from the Glee series by far - it's so good! I really love both these songs, and I think it's pretty genius how they wove them together.
Not sure how I found this song - maybe it was recommended by iTunes? I have a couple other Mat Kearney songs but this one is my favorite.
I think I heard this song on Hart of Dixie and looked it up from there, but I'm not entirely sure. It's got a cool, twangy, foot tapping beat.
I first heard Guster on one of the KROQ CDs from like 2001 or so, and then impressed the hell out of us when we saw them live on Mayercraft. This song just kind of makes me smile "I wanna wake you from your dream, I wanna know just who you're talking to when you're singing in your sleep, I wanna find out what it means, do you love me?"
I first NEEDTOBREATHE on the soundtrack from PS I Love You, and then this song made me tap my foot immediately.
I've had this song on my iTunes for years, but then a friend posted that Tony Lucca is going to be on the next season of The Voice and it made me go back to it. (The video is a bit weird - it's him performing in somoene's living room, but it's a pretty decent version of the song.)
I can't even tell you how I stumbled upon this song (it may also be from Hart of Dixie?), but I love it. The video is kind of weird cause it's an acoustic version and has random interviews going at the same time, but you'll get the idea.
I heard this one on the radio on the way home and it was so catchy I just had to grab it. Silly? Absolutely. But it'll get stuck in your head!
This year's holiday party is partly inspired by some carnival masks we got in Italy, which led me to being inspired by New Orleans. And Louis Armstrong is fabulous!

Rad! Hey I'm working on a x-mas cd for your party.
Blitzen Trapper! I discovered them when I first moved to Portland, and saw them live (so good). I haven't kept up with their latest albums--I did hear some hipsters outside of the French Press lately talking about them and thought: "Oh, trendy Portland. You are seeping into everything!" Glad you love the tap-your-foot twang, too. xo
